Breaking Family Cycles and Building Bonds - I did it MY way.
from The Parenting Playbook Podcast · host Nicola Saunders
Today, I will be speaking to Tara Britton Perkins, who is a mum of six and social media management specialist. Tara shares her childhood story of being raised in a family where money was tight and life was tough. She shares the heartbreak of the challenges that poor mental health and alcoholism brought to her family, together with the loss of her dad at the age of 15 to suicide. As a young person, Tara decided she knew she wanted more for her family when the time came to have children, and as a result, she has made it her business to break her family patterns and talks candidly about the challenges that she has faced together with what is clearly an incredible bond with her children in spite of the fact that she had very little positive experiences of how to be the parent that she wanted to be, but she certainly knew what she didn't want to be. I hope you enjoy the show.
