Brian Schneider and Blake Conant-Old Barnwell

Blake Conant and Brian Schneider are two of the most experienced folks in the industry of course design, construction, restoration, and golf course consulting work. Both sit atop a mountain of important projects as both have lent their expertise on courses many of us regard as "Bucket A" golf in the United States and the globe at large. So when they show up to build a course on sandy, undulating, forest land in South Carolina, I'm going to take interest. I first visited over the holidays in '22 as the upper loop was completed. I then learned more about the founder of Old Barnwell, Nick Schriber, and his vision for the place- extending far beyond interesting golf. It was the combination of the WHY behind OB and Blake and Brian's commitment to deliver something new and refreshing that makes this a story of its own.
