First in a series regarding narcissistic abuse perpetrated by my father, a career law enforcement officer against everyone he deemed an adversary. Please join me in examining the content of written communication from him, unmasking the metadata in order to decipher what’s actually being said vs. the message he meant to convey. I’ll identify known strategies employed by dysfunctional abusive individuals, manipulation, projection, gaslighting, subterfuge, deception and the ever present failure to justify abusive conduct. His abuse of power as a law enforcement officer and police chief was a protracted aspect of life in this family.
