You need to understand that stereotypes exist because there is some truth to them. Crummy people that give Salespeople a bad name Politicians Lies or bend the truth Tell people what they want to hear Make promises that they don’t deliver on Timeshare Sales People Pushy sales people You know you should say no but you say yes anyway The incentives are too good to pass up and you feel trapped or obligated Sleazy Car Salesman Buying a lemon Overpriced and taking advantage of under qualified individual You are NOT THAT You strive to be of service to others You find solutions to problems for your clients You under promise and over deliver You have a proven system (or you should) You prequalify all leads You are a professional and have pride in the service you provide What are people afraid of? Labeled a “Sales Person” Negative stigma Ego holds us back Being pushy The reason they don’t follow up We only work with people who need our help anyway Not succeeding Requires you to embrace being in sales Embrace communication with your clients or potential clients Getting out of your own way Salespeople are the highest paid because they solve the most problems. Good sales people are held in high regard because of their compassion and willingness to help.
