Sermon Episode: Revealing Revelations Part 6 – “Called and CommissionedWelcome to another powerful message in our series, Revealing Revelations. Today, in Part 6 – “Called and Commissioned,” we’re diving into the urgency of spreading the gospel and understanding the prophetic truths in Revelation. This book isn’t just about future events—it’s a call to action for believers today.Let’s start with Matthew 24:14, where Jesus declares:“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”This is our mission. The gospel must reach every nation, every people, before the end comes.⸻1. The Challenge for the ChurchWith today’s technology, reaching the world has never been easier. Social media, live streams, and digital resources allow us to spread messages across the globe in an instant. But here’s the challenge—not every message being spread is the true gospel. We, as the church, must ensure that what we are preaching aligns with God’s truth. We are not just called to believe—we are commissioned to proclaim the truth.Three Key Areas to Consider:1. What Lies Ahead – Understanding the FutureIn Revelation 8:1-13, we see the seventh seal open, bringing silence in heaven before the trumpets of judgment sound. What does this mean for us today?•Incense and Prayers: Our prayers rise like incense before God, showing that what we cry out for matters in the spiritual realm.•Trumpets of Judgment: These events impact food, water, light, and comfort, reminding us that God is sovereign and calling people to repentance. We are witnessing signs of prophecy unfolding, and it’s time to prepare, not panic.⸻2. What Lies Beneath – The Meaning Behind the SymbolsRevelation is full of metaphors that require discernment. Let’s look at two powerful symbols:•The Great Star (Bitterness) – Revelation 8:10-11A star named “Bitterness” falls, poisoning a third of the waters. This represents the consequences of sin—how corruption spreads and affects many.•The Locusts from the Bottomless Pit – Revelation 9:1-11These are not ordinary locusts; they symbolize torment upon those who reject God. Their presence is a warning of judgment. The deeper we go in Revelation, the more we see a call to discernment. Are we prepared to understand and explain these truths?⸻3. What Lies Inside – Our Response to the MessageIn Revelation 10:5-11, John is given a scroll to eat. It’s sweet in his mouth but bitter in his stomach. This is a powerful image of the gospel—it brings joy to those who receive it, but also conviction and judgment for those who reject it.•Jeremiah 15:16 reminds us that God’s word is our delight, even when it challenges us.•Ezekiel 2:8-3:3 shows Ezekiel receiving God’s word and being called to proclaim it, even when it is difficult. As believers, we must embrace both the sweetness and the bitterness—the joy of salvation and the weight of responsibility to share the truth.⸻Called and Commissioned•Call: God calls us to come out from the world and live set apart.•Commission: We are sent with authority and responsibility to share the gospel.•Responsibility: Once we receive the truth, we must be faithful in delivering the message, even when it’s uncomfortable.•Seal of God: In Revelation, those who belong to Go
