Today, Thursday October 1 - Jesus, in the early days of His earthly ministry, called twelve men to Himself to be His disciples!  These men, for the most part, were common ordinary men. They spent the next three years of their life following Jesus!  After His death, resurrection and ascension, they continued to follow Him the rest of their lives. They disciplined themselves to be with Jesus, to learn from Jesus, and to experience His presence and power in their personal lives.  I believe Jesus has called every believer to be His disciple, to follow and serve Him.  The Apostle Paul believed that it was the highest calling he could have.  I'll never forget reading how a dear lady responded to a guest speaker at her church when he asked her what she did.  She said, "I am a disciple of Jesus Christ, cleverly disguised as a machine operator at the local factory."  When you really know your main purpose in life and have the ultimate goal of pleasing and living for the Lord, it changes a life of drudgery into an exciting adventure!  God bless!
