Calls for cheaper rates to be introduced for new EV charging ports

from Ocean FM News Reports

Calls are being made to roll out more Electric Vehicle charging ports around Sligo - and to make them more affordable to use.Currently, it costs between 50 and 60 cent per kilowatt hour to use public charging points, over twice the price of some other European countries.A grant of up to €21m was launched last week to install more charging points across Ireland, with the aim of having one available every 60 kilometres by 2025.While welcoming the funding to install the chargers, Independent Councillor Marie Casserly says more should be done to incentivise their use.
