Calls for Sligo train to be priority in dedicated transport police move

There are calls for the Sligo - Connolly train line to be prioritized in any move to establish a dedicated transport police unit. It's understood that the Government feels that such a unit is now necessary and that it would deal specifically with anti-social behaviour. There have been several concerning incidents on the Sligo line in recent months - the latest only last week when a row broke out on one of the carriages. It is envisaged that the initiative would start with the capital, and then would be expanded to other Irish cities, such as Cork. Sinn Fein's Transport Spokesperson and Sligo Leitrim TD Martin Kenny says it something that his party has been calling for for quite some time:
