Justification is the core of the Christian's reconciliation with God, defined not as an internal change of character but as the gratuitous acceptance of the sinner through the non-imputation of sin. By examining the words of Paul and the testimony of David, John Calvin demonstrates that our righteousness consists entirely in the forgiveness of sins and the imputation of Christ’s perfect obedience.
