Can mining and the green revolution coexist? - Theo Yameogo, EY Americas and Canada Mining & Metals Leader

from The Switch - to a green economy

Humans are never perfect. What was an astonishing innovation 50 years ago, represents a problem that needs to be solved today. This is the case with mining and metal, a sector we depend on, but which also needs to reduce its climate impact. On the new episode of The Switch Podcast, we talked to mining expert Theo Yameogo about how mining and metals have the potential to help, not hinder the green transition. Theo currently coordinates the Mining and Metals practice at Ernst & Young for both Canada and the Americas, and has spent many years working in mining operations, engineering consulting and business consulting. He explains how we can optimize mining to lessen our dependency on it and on the raw materials extracted and how we can all contribute to change by demanding transparency.
