Career Change Allies: Amanda Newman - supporting career changers and women in Technology

from Career Happy Mums: The Podcast · host Rebecca Amin

This episode is a little different as my guest, Amanda Newman, is not a career changer. She is however the founder of the incredibly successful and supportive free Facebook community The Career Mum , a working parent of four children (including 6-year-old twins!) and has carved a career in the male dominant industry of Technology. In this episode, Amanda not only offers a huge amount of advice, wisdom, hindsight and vulnerability, but she also shares her thoughts on how to carve a career change - particularly into Technology. Amanda shares how she has navigated career shifts, what she has found most helpful in developing her career as well as insight as to when she has paused to reflect - such as at points when her family has grown and when being faced with breast cancer.  If you are looking for inspiration, and tangible advice - particularly around a career shift into tech, this episode is for you. Having worked in Shell, Microsoft, IBM and Accenture, Amanda knows exactly what it takes and means to find mentors, sponsors and all kinds of support to help your career journey as a working mother.   If you are not already in Amanda's amazing Facebook group, I really encourage you to join today!
