A virtuous life and spiritual affluence, not material plenitude, will bring one true esteem from others. Because when all is said and done not everything that attracts attention is necessarily honourable! Much of this is caused by the "Folly of the Populace" who seek to profit from flattery. Which itself is rooted in a lack of understanding that everything comes only from Hashem. Instead, they should be Honouring Hashem.
