from Beyond the Game Podcast

Get ready for an incredible episode of Beyond the Game as host Mike Lacey sits down with former BYU Football legend and Philadelphia Eagles Tight End, Chad Lewis. Despite starting as a walk-on at BYU, Chad's determination and skill led him to an impressive collegiate career, amassing 111 receptions for 1,376 yards and ten touchdowns. Not only did this earn Chad a spot on the All-WAC first-team but also garnered him the nickname "Leapin' Lewis" for his incredible ability to leap over defenders with ease. Chad's NFL journey began as an undrafted free agent with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1997. After a brief stint with the St. Louis Rams, he returned to the Eagles, where he made a significant impact. In the 2005 NFC Championship game, Chad caught the game-clinching touchdown pass, solidifying the Eagles' spot in Super Bowl XXXIX. Unfortunately, during the catch, he suffered a severe foot injury that prevented him from playing in the Super Bowl. Throughout this episode, Mike and Chad delve into the highs and lows of Chad's remarkable career, from his humble beginnings as a walk-on at BYU to his rise to stardom in the NFL. They also explore the profound impact of Chad's LDS mission to Taiwan, which completely transformed his life and shaped his approach to football and beyond. Gain insight into how Chad's experiences on the gridiron have molded him into the mentor he is today, inspiring and guiding the next generation of athletes and individuals alike. Don't miss this engaging and inspirational conversation that goes beyond the game and showcases the power of perseverance, faith, and leadership.
