'Rome based Kocleo makes a welcome return to the label, adding to a shimmering back catalogue with 'Chasing Ashes' - a poised 2-tracker that features the elegant vocals of Claire. The title track kicks things off with a colourful braid of tropical percussion that generates a magnetic pull as it bubbles and blobs along. The track is deftly balanced, thick in all the right places with a feint hint of the deliciously bizarre. It sets tone and tension without trying too hard as it percolates slowly towards a wide open breakdown, giving Claire's mellifluous vocal space to glow, creating a warm and gooey centre in the middle of an exceptionally charming late warm up DJ tool. 'Fragments' dials in that classic True Romance sound. Delicate synth lines blossom alongside thick claps, dramatic piano chords and more beautifully sweet vocals that are all soaked 80s spirit and delivered with pastel panache.
