Summary
"You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden."Matthew 5:14 In it's original Greek, the 'you' in this verse is plural, not singular. While you, as a Christian are a light, it is the church as a whole that is the 'city on the hill.' As a church- made of people and not of physical stones- we shine the light of Christ to the world. His light is revealed through the way that we love each other. it is through the relationships that we build within the church, and the turning of our hearts towards each other in complete oneness and unity, that the world will see and believe in Jesus. Christianity is a relationship, not an institution, and when that is shown in the unity of the body of christ, the 'city' cannot be hidden. Do you desire the unity of the Body of Christ? If not, have you asked God to show you how to love those you are called to love?
