Civil War Survivor - Episode 1

An overview of the story of Edgar W. Clark during the Civil War. He left a wife and two young daughters to join the 3rd Michigan Infantry Regiment in the Army of the Potomac. Through letters sent to his wife, Catherine, in Lansing, Mich., the listener travels with Edgar as he participates in 13 battles and 40 days of combat and hears how his wife at home is faring. The podcast combines insight into the social and family aspects of the war with commentary on the military and political aspects from Edgar's great-great-grandson, Michael P. Clark.
