Clear Skies | Connecticut Weather 6 PM

from The Connecticut Weather Podcast

Good evening! I'm Aaron Jolly. Welcome to the Connecticut Weather Podcast for Wednesday, February 25th. That dusting of snow from last night? It's still clinging to every rooftop and railing. Fifteen degrees overnight made sure of that. Right now you're at 38 degrees, which is textbook late February for Connecticut. Today was pleasant enough. Mostly sunny, calm southwest winds around 7 miles an hour, highs near 39 degrees along the coast and 38 inland. Nothing dramatic. But tonight.. Tonight gets interesting. A quick cold front is sliding through central Connecticut. Scattered snow showers pop up between 8 P.M. and 2 A.M., with the best chance right around 10 P.M. Nothing major, just enough to dust the windshield again. If you're along the coast or out east, you mostly dodge this one. Partly cloudy skies and that's about it. Lows drop to 26 degrees inland. The shoreline holds a few degrees warmer, 28 to 29. Thursday brings sunshine back. Highs climb to 38 to 41 degrees. A weak storm passes well south of us. We don't even get a postcard from it. Thursday night gets cold though. Inland spots fall to 16 degrees. The coast settles near 19 to 20. Now the week ahead tells a real story, folks. Friday stays pleasant, highs near 40 degrees. Saturday is the gem. Mid 40s. Your warmest day all week. Enjoy the thaw while you can. Sunday a cold front rolls through with light snow showers, mainly between 7 A.M. and 1 P.M. And behind that front? Arctic air. Monday and Tuesday look unsettled with more snow chances as temperatures crash into the 20s. Confidence on the details is still low, but the pattern is shifting cold in a hurry. Keep an eye on that Sunday front. I'll have much more on the Arctic blast tomorrow night. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
