The Spanish Compound. 1985, Val di Fiemme, Trentino, Dolomites. "Without a dream an idea does not grow". The history of mountaineering starts with dreams of conquest and passions. That of La Sportiva is no exception even if in this particular story, racing cars are also centered. In the 1970s, the first climbers climbed with sturdy mountain boots. A concept, which soon changed thanks to a couple of intuitions of the La Sportiva brand. The climbing shoes had to be soft and light and the sole was the key. But how to obtain a compound that would allow you to move safely and lightly on the rock, spreading in grip as only racing tires could have done? The key was right here, in asking the right question. Thus was born the mysterious Spanish compound, and the climbing revolution began.
