Colossians 1:21-23 - Jesus Lives for You!

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Sunday May 23 Jesus Lives for You! Colossians 1:21-23 And you, who once were alienated and hostile in mind, doing evil deeds, he has now reconciled in his body of flesh by his death, in order to present you holy and blameless and above reproach before him, if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard, which has been proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, became a minister. For sure, Colossians teaches us that is all about Jesus and Who He is!!!!! That should be our heart, our soul, our attitude and our aim in life, in making Jesus the preeminent One in everything! But at the same time, we can also take great comfort and encouragement that from God’s perspective, it’s all about us! We are reminded in Hebrews that even now Jesus ever lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:25). John tells us in 1 John 2 that Jesus is like our lawyer always pleading on our behalf before the Father! This is the reason Jesus came in the flesh, to die for us, to pay the penalty for our sins and set us free! That’s called redemption, which paves the way for reconciliation and peace with God. We live in a broken and hurting world filled with confusion. One day science tells us one thing we must do to survive and then the next day it tells us something else. We have a major trust issue with almost everything and everyone that we should be able to depend on for protection and guidance in this chaotic world. Today, I remind you that Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). You can trust Him and His Word, and I assure you He is willing and ready to receive and help you! Please meditate on the following verses that assure us of His aid in our time of need! “Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham. Therefore, in all things He had to be made like Hisbrethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted.” (Hebrews 2:14-18) God bless!
