Colossians 1:9-11 - "Increasing in the Knowledge of God"

from Pastor Mike Impact Ministries · host Michael L Grooms

Today, Saturday May 15 “Increasing in the Knowledge of God” Colossians 1:10-11 “So as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy…” We must notice the progression of words and actions in these verses. “Praying, asking, filled with knowledge of His will, spiritual wisdom and understanding, walking, worthy, pleasing to Him, and then bearing fruit in every good work.” And finally it says, that we will be “increasing in the knowledge of God”. You might remember that was the goal of the Apostle Paul, that he stated in Philippians 3:10, “That I might know Him”. Many of us might say that we want to know God, which means we want to have an intimate relationship with Him. We want to experience His presence, His power, and His provisions in every aspect of our lives, but we either don’t realize or we forget, that will only take place after we are being obedient to pray, to be walking in His will, and bearing fruit in everything we do for His glory. Our faith which is evidenced by our obedience will bring us to a place where we truly feel that we are experiencing God personally in a beautiful and wonderful way! We often complicate the Christian life by trying to figure it all out first. We want to know how it is all going to work out before we commit ourselves to even begin the journey. But my friend, today if you will simply begin in faith to pray, to be obedient to the known will of God that is already clear in His Word, have a heart to please and satisfy God, I am convinced you will find and experience God in a wonderful, fulfilling, and growing intimate relationship. May the grace of God help us to do this today! God bless!
