In this week’s Come Follow Me for Teens episode, we study Joshua 1–8,23–24 and the Lord’s command to Joshua as the children of Israel prepared to enter the promised land: “Be strong and of a good courage.” After years of wandering in the wilderness, Israel finally stood at the edge of the promised land. But there were still rivers to cross, walls to face, battles to fight, and choices to make. The Lord helped Joshua understand that courage would not come from his own strength, but from trusting that God would be with him wherever he went. In this episode, we talk about how teens can find courage through the word of God, recognize and remove spiritual distractions that weaken them, and choose each day whom they will serve. Through the stories of Joshua, Jericho, Achan, and Joshua’s final invitation to Israel, this lesson helps youth see that with Jesus Christ, they can move forward in faith, face hard things, and stand strong in a world full of competing voices.
