Come Follow Me [Jacob 5-7] The Allegory of the Olive Tree for Latter-Day Parents

from Inner Strength Insights with Jamie Knapp: Scriptural Insights for Latter-Day Life · host Jamie Knapp

I worry about my kids. I try not to, but that human brain of mine does it anyway.   I notice when my kids feel weighed down.   I notice when they are irritable (it's hard to miss),   I notice when they have doubts.   And I want to help.   Jacob felt the same way about his people.   He noticed they were starting to struggle.   So, he taught truth... and THEN he shared a story.   I've heard this story a dozen times, but I always read it from the perspective of Heavenly Father doing whatever it takes to help and save his children.   That's all true.   But, as I ready the story this time, I looked for what heaven wants me to see as a parent.   And, my friend, I will never ready this story the same way again.   It is absolutely beautiful.   I see my role as a parent more clearly.   I see 3 vital things I can do when my kids struggle.   Most importantly, I learned WHY HEAVEN LOVES THE ICKY PARTS OF LIFE...and how I, as a parent, can too.   Oh, how I love this parable now.   I'm so excited to share it with you! Whether you're using this along with Come, Follow Me or to strengthen yourself and raise amazing kids, welcome! I hope this episode helps you love your life, live your mission, and raise kids who do the same!
