🦸 Comic Con Weekend, Dangerous Cold & A Gospel Legacy - Feb 6 Edition

from 3 Things to Know: Your Weekend Rundown from WFXR News · host WFXR NEWS

Crowds in costume, dangerous cold, and a story rooted in family and faith - here are your 3 Things to Know: 🦸 Big Lick Comic Con: Big Lick Comic Con returns to the Berglund Center this weekend with two days of comics, cosplay, celebrity guests, and wall-to-wall vendors. It’s one of Roanoke’s biggest pop-culture weekends, packed with photo ops and family-friendly fun. ❄️ Cold Snap & Wintry Mix: A fast-moving system arrives Friday with rain and snow, mainly west of the Blue Ridge. Most areas will see under an inch, but western Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties could pick up 3-8 inches under a Winter Storm Watch. Gusty winds Friday night will bring bitter cold and subzero wind chills Saturday. Highs stay in the teens and 20s before warming into the 40s and 50s early next week. 🎶 Black History Spotlight: Honoring Black History Month, WFXR is sharing the story of a small Burnt Chimney church where music and family built a gospel legacy. For decades, Larnell Starkey and the Spiritual Seven have carried their sound across the country. Watch the full story at WFXRtv.com. That’s your Three Things to Know. Follow WFXR News for continuing coverage—and have a safe weekend.
