COMMITTED To LIVING The Great COMMISSION, Pt. 1 1. To be who God wants you to be you must make the PURPOSE of the CHURCH your purpose as a BELIEVER. Matthew 28:16-19a (NLT) – Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—but some of them doubted! 18 Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. 19 Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, . . . . 2. To be who God wants you to be you must DO whatever it takes to MAKE disciples of JESUS CHRIST. Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT) – Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” A. BAPTIZING them (19b) – focuses on bringing people to conversion/salvation. (EVANGELISM) B. TEACH them. . . . to obey (20) – FOCUSES ON NURTURING PEOPLE TO FACILITATE THEIR SPIRITUAL MATURITY. (EDIFICATION) COMMITTED To LIVING The Great COMMISSION, Pt. 2 1. To be who God wants you to be you need to realize GOD is with YOU when you make OBEYING Him your PRIORITY.
