Complete Global Saturation: Episode 11 - Resident Evil Village & REVerse

from Complete Global Saturation: An Unofficial History Of Resident Evil - Vol 2 · host Alex Aniel, Rob McGregor

Episode 11 arrives, and Alex and Rob sit down to discuss - at the time of recording at least as we were mere weeks from the release of Requiem - the most recent brand new title in the series, Resident Evil Village. Released in May of 2021, confirmed nuggets about its development aren't as well known as earlier titles due to it being so recent, but that doesn't stop both the guys from looking into the origins, the decision to make a direct sequel to RE7, and various decisions such as some of the material shown but cut, the continued support to VR with the PSVR2, and much more. The development of Village was indeed a long one, impacted by both being a follow up to a style reboot in Resident Evil 7, but also one that was impacted by COVID also. Indeed this lets Alex discuss some of the impacts by COVID to the franchise in general, and you might be surprised what that impact was overall. Additionally after we've looked into Village and all of it's content, we have a brief look back at the decision to make REVerse and the delay upon release that separate game title - included free with Village - that happened. All this, and much more in the latest episode of Complete Global Saturation. This 12 episode limited podcast series is a follow up to Alex Aniel's book, 'Itchy, Tasty: A Unofficial History of Resident Evil' - which covers the first decade of the series from its origins in the early 1990s through to 2006. Please feel free to subscribe, review, and share - and any questions can be put alongside wherever this is posted and we will try to return to these in a future episode.
