In this episode, Alex and Rob are joined by JJ from the massive fan community Residence of Evil, to look back at the history of the 3DS portable era, including Mercenaries 3D and Revelations on the 3DS. As well back at the announcement of the vaporware that was Resident Evil Portable on the PSP in 2009. After catching up with JJ and how he got involved in the fan community, as this was just days after the reveal of the new Resident Evil title Requiem, we all have a brief chat on what this means for the franchise before heading onto the main topic.There we start by looking back to the early days of portable Resident Evil with a quick recap of the history of portable titles and the decisions that lead to both 3DS titles. We then discuss the intent of what was and what could have been on the 3DS, as well as a follow up on the HD versions of Revelations which came to the WiiU, PS3, PS4, XB360, XB1 and Switch. As well as what the chances are of any future unique handheld Resident Evil adventures.
