Serious concern has been raised over the impact the HSE moratorium on recruitment is having on Sligo University Hospital. It comes as the INMO has called for an end to the moratorium, with a warning that Nurses and Midwives are now bearing the brunt of public disappointment for the state of the health service. They're also said to be working in extremely challenging environments which in turn is having an extremely damaging impact on patient safety and staff morale. Fianna Fail Cllr and Member of the Regional Health Forum West Donal Gilroy says while the move may have been necessary in the past, it's now time for the HSE to carry out a review:
