Concern over Leitrim mountain range potentially earmarked for wind turbines

Concerns have been raised over a Leitrim mountain range potentially being earmarked for wind turbine development.Wording in the current county development plan in relation to the Aroo Mountain range is vague and may be interpreted as permitting industrial development around Dough Mountain.It is thought that such works would threaten the ecological integrity, cultural heritage, and landscape value of the entire mountain range.The issue was raised by all councillors in the Manorhamilton MD, and Cllr James Gilmartin says it would be an example of unsuitable development:
