Connecticut Weather: 02-20-2026

from The Connecticut Weather Podcast

Good evening, folks! I'm Aaron Jolly, and this's the Connecticut Weather Podcast for Friday, February 23rd. Here's the deal. A late winter storm is sliding in tonight, and it's bringing the kind of soggy mess that makes you grateful for a couch and a blanket. Rain, wind, and puddles deep enough to swallow your shoes. That's what you're looking at this weekend. Let's take a drive through the state. Down along the coast, you're sitting at 36 degrees with northeast winds around 9 miles an hour. Rain is likely, and here's the thing. High tide rolls in at 11:06 A.M. at two and a half feet. That could mean minor splash over along the shoreline. If you're anywhere near the water, keep your distance. Head inland to central Connecticut and it's the same 36 degrees. But rain coverage jumps way up. Nearly everyone gets wet here. Winds are gentler, just 6 miles an hour. Still, expect a soggy day with puddles sticking around overnight. Now swing east. Eastern Connecticut is actually the warmest spot at 39 degrees. Don't let that fool you. East winds at 7 to 10 miles an hour are pushing in near certain rain. One bright spot? Air quality is excellent. So between showers, you'll want to step out and grab a breath of that clean winter air. Here's your heads up for the week ahead. Rain lingers into Saturday, especially along the coast. Highs stay in the upper 30s, right around normal for late February. Sunday dries out but clouds hang on like a guest who won't leave. The workweek starts quiet with temperatures hovering near normal. No big swings either direction. And we're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight each day. Spring is creeping closer. One more thing. If you're enjoying these daily updates, share us with a friend who hates getting caught in the rain unprepared. Bundle up and stay dry out there. That's your forecast — we'll be back tomorrow.
