It's almost gone. In the next 24 hours. Central Connecticut wakes up at 28 degrees with that icy glaze likely lingering until about 2 A.M. Down along the coast, you're sitting at a milder 34 degrees where it's just plain rain. Eastern Connecticut checks in at 33 degrees. The whole mess tapers off by daybreak, leaving behind some fog. Once that fog burns off? You'll want to get outside. We're looking at a surprisingly pleasant afternoon. The coast hits 48 degrees under mostly sunny skies. Central Connecticut reaches 46 degrees with partly sunny conditions. Eastern Connecticut actually wins the temperature battle, topping out at 50 degrees. That's running about 26 degrees warmer than usual for early March. Tonight turns partly cloudy. Watch for lows dropping to around 30 degrees at the coast, 26 degrees inland. And 28 degrees in eastern areas. Patchy fog will be sneaking back in late. Thursday brings the rain back. A steady rain develops by the afternoon and continues into Thursday night. Highs only reach the low to mid 40s. In Here's big picture for week ahead, friday stays damp and cool with more rain. But the weekend? that's when spring really wakes up. Saturday climbs into the low 50s. Sunday and Monday both push toward 60 degrees. That's running more than 26 degrees above normal. We're gaining nearly 3 minutes of daylight every single day now.
