Continuously Filled

from John Wasserman Podcast · host John Wasserman

We see the spirit of Gnosticism in the church today when we look at the lack of moral values and integrity amongst Christians. We should be different since we are in the world but not of the world. To successfully counteract this moral decay – which is regarded by the world as normal – we need to be continuously filled with the Holy Spirit. He is our guide, strength, and the one who enables us to fulfil our destiny and be witnesses of Jesus wherever we go. In the Bible we see how men and women made a difference in the world because they were filled with the Holy Spirit. When the Holy Spirit is moving in a meeting it is wise to refrain from judging the way He is going about it, and to stay open to Him so that He might move unhindered. We need both the Spirit and the Word in our meetings to have balance in our walk with God. We get filled repeatedly by the Spirit using childlike faith, being hungry, positioning ourselves (maybe by doing something different), responding when the Spirit moves, and letting go of condemnation, guilt, and shame. Because He is our helper, in times of tribulation, ask for another infilling of the Holy Spirit. He brings boldness, joy, revelation, wisdom, fruitfulness, purity, holiness. love, peace, plus the presence- and unadulterated power of God in our lives. We need to protect the fire of the Holy Spirit within us.
