Cornel West seems to feel that Harvard is putting him through Hell
from The Dr Boyce Breakdown · host Dr Boyce Watkins
Noted black scholar Dr Cornel West is finding himself in the middle of an interesting controversy with Harvard University. According to Dr West, Harvard is unwilling to grant him tenure due to the controversy behind his work on racial equality. None of this surprises me, given the nature of academic racism and the decision by white academia to value the work of white scholars over black ones. It also goes without saying that Dr Cornel West is an amazing scholar who deserves tenure at any institution with which he is affiliated. So, in this video, I don't just talk about Dr Cornel West and his beef with Harvard, we also discuss the disturbing issues that exist within academic institutions that put black students deep in debt, but are often unwilling to hire and promote black faculty. That is the scope of this analysis of the state of black scholars in America.
