Sheriff John Staley has over 20 years of law enforcement experience in Central Arkansas. He is passionate about the Peers Achieving Collaborative Treatment (PACT) program in Lonoke County, which seeks to aid inmates battling addiction. Sheriff Staley also gives his take on two major career events. In 2019, Sheriff Staley struck an inmate at Lonoke County Jail during a search, and footage of the incident was later released. Then in 2021, Sheriff Staley fired a sergeant who didn’t follow body-cam protocol when he approached a teen … who he later ended up shooting to death. Sheriff Staley also talks about his work as an instructor for other law enforcement officers and shares stories about his time on the other side of the law.
