One does not gather courage to find ‘what is True’ as one does not bear the discomfort of going wrong. One is waylaid as if some one else can give a ready made solution, formula. One is trapped in fitting life into answers, explanations, teachings dished out by others. Unless this dependence, this burden, this hope is deleted from the mind 'what is True' is not revealed. The basic human predicament stems from the notion that ideas, explanations will give one stability or can give stable relief to the mind. One waits for stable relief through goals, planning, controls. This wait makes as if now is compulsive, secondary and future is primary. The paradigm of wait never changes. Unless one sees the futility of wait, the original current does not touch one. Now any action (or no-action) is relaxed and conscious. Recognise the feeling of uneasiness due to any situation. Just be comfortable with the feeling of uneasiness. And see what happens. You can run away from the problem, but not from your feeling. This seeing opens the door. By talking about God, Enlightenment, liberation, comforting quotes and so on, one is seeking a way out of pain and uncertainty of normal life. Unless one absorbs pain and uncertainty ‘as it is’, there is no chance of finding the ‘True’ (all pain and uncertainty is psychological discomfort, if it is not immediate physical danger).
