Court Orders Restoration of President’s House Exhibit

A federal judge has ordered the immediate restoration of the President’s House exhibit in Philadelphia after parts were removed and altered. U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe granted a preliminary injunction requiring the Interior Department and National Park Service to return the site to its previous state. The exhibit, located near Independence Hall, documents the enslaved people held at the president’s residence and is viewed as a critical acknowledgment of slavery’s role in the nation’s founding.
