Creative Challenge: Whose Permission Are You Waiting for to do What You Love Creatively???

from A Phil Svitek Podcast - A Series From Your 360 Creative Coach · host Phil Svitek

I find that a lot of people in my life talk about doing something but then never actually do it. This is sad to me because I know they're talented so I want to see their talents showcased. (As a side note, talent is a process, not a skill IMO - https://philsvitek.com/talent-is-not-a-skill-its-a-process/). And it makes me wonder, whose permission are they waiting for? Especially now with the pandemic, we all have to be more creative in how we manifest our creativity. If you're a filmmaker, make a movie in your apartment. If you're musician do an IG Live concert. If you're an actor, do TikTok lip syncs and other such videos. Are you a comedian? Do some at home stand up and put it up. Never preclude yourself from doing something just because someone's not knocking on your door to do it. Do it AND then people will knock. I have seen this time and time again. Gary Vee (@GaryVee) talks about it all the time. Listen to him if you want to get fully hyped. Regardless, just do the thing you say you want to be doing. Write that book. Sing that song. Paint that picture. Whatever! Just do it! If you have questions or thoughts, comment down below or hit me up on social media @PhilSvitek if it's easier. I'd love to hear from you.
