Custom drug boat seized with $500m cocaine haul

Australian Federal Police have charged six foreign nationals after seizing one tonne of cocaine worth $500 million from a custom-built drug smuggling vessel off Sydney. The MV Raider was initially intercepted by French Navy in French Polynesia where 4.8 tonnes of cocaine was discovered and disposed of, before the vessel attempted to enter Australian waters and was finally brought to Sydney Harbour in March after issuing a distress call.
