Today is Wednesday, January 22, 2020 and here is your Daily Devo. Haggai admonished the people for their neglect of God’s house because their attention had shifted away from the things of God to their own personal well-being. In essence, Haggai lamented that the people lived in fine homes while the temple lay in ruins (Hag. 1:3-6). This happens when spiritual apathy sets in—we neglect the things of God in pursuit of the things of this world. Think about this: What are some earthly comforts that can distract you from following God’s will? How can Christians guard themselves from falling for such distractions?
