Today is Tuesday, March 27, 2018. Hi, my name is Adam Burton, and you are listening to The Daily Divo, a short devotional designed to help you apply God's Word to your life. The content comes from the Gospel Project. Take a few moments and read 1st Peter, chapter 2, verses 1 through 17.
In the Hall of Faith, given to us in Hebrews, chapter 11, the author commended many people as those who lived by faith. By faith, Enoch. By faith, Sarah. By faith, Abraham.
These faith-filled souls recognized that their true home was in heaven. Their real citizenship was in heaven. Their only allegiance was to King Jesus, and it is from this identity they obeyed. They understood that the way we live matters, but not for the status we'll receive on this earth.
Our holiness sets us apart from this watching world, not so we can puff up ourselves, but so we can point to our holy God. Think about this. How might greater effort focusing on eternity change our attitudes and actions each day? What difference will it make in our attitudes and actions if we love our place in the world more than we love our citizenship in God's kingdom?
