Take a few moments and read Romans 12 verses 9 through 18. 1 Corinthians 1 verse 9 and Philippians 1 verses 3 through 7. Many Christians have their understanding of the Church upside down. Having been saved as individuals, they tend to see their faith only as something personal, even private, and struggling to embrace the importance and depth of being a partner in the Gospel with others.
They attend Church, but might not truly invest in the work of the Church, or they might partner in the work of the Church in safer, somewhat distance ways, such as through giving money, but not through serving. Think about this. Why do you think it is sometimes difficult to move away from individualism and toward the mission of the Church? What does the idea of being a partner on Gospel mission mean for your daily routines?
