Today is Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Hi, my name is Adam Burton, and you are listening to The Daily Divo, a short devotional designed to help you apply God's Word to your life. The content comes from the Gospel Project. Take a few moments and read in 2nd Peter, chapter 3, verses 1-13.
Patiently waiting, even when we know what we are waiting on will come, is difficult. In today's fast-paced society, we are used to instant gratification and often weigh the advantages of what we are doing mostly by its immediate benefits. This makes waiting difficult for us, but as we have seen, God calls on us to patiently wait for Him to make good on His promises to us, knowing that there is purpose in His perfect timing. Even so, our goal is not merely to wait.
Instead, we are to make the most of our time as we wait. We join with God in His purpose while we wait. Think about this. If Christ doesn't return tomorrow, what will we do with the day He has given to us and to the unbelieving world around us?
How does the knowledge of Jesus' future return challenge the way we think about struggles in our lives? If you are in need of prayer, please get in touch with me. I would love to pray for you. You can connect with me on social media or shoot me an email at adamberton.net.
Oh, thank you.
