Today is Monday, August 5, 2019, and here is your Daily Devo. Solomon understood that to fulfill God's given responsibility of reigning over God's people, he needed God-given wisdom. His task was daunting, so his request of God was desperate. Solomon was a powerful man, yet he knew that even as such, he was in desperate need of God.
Solomon is not alone. God has given us the privilege and responsibility to rule over his creation. Paul described the children of God as heirs with Jesus Christ, and if that isn't enough, there will come a day when we will judge angels. But if Solomon needed wisdom, should we need it any less?
The great news is that as much as we need wisdom, God delights that much more in giving it to us. God was pleased to give Solomon wisdom so he could reign with wisdom and justice. He delights to give us wisdom as well. Think about this.
