Today is Saturday, August 18, 2018. Hi. My name is Adam Perton and you are listening to The Daily Divo, a short devotional designed to help you apply God's Word to your life. The content comes from the gospel project.
Take a few moments and read Revelation 4 verse 2 through chapter 5 verse 14. When some people think of eternity, they picture it as singing for billions and billions of years. They thought boring to some. While we will do much more than singing in eternity, the singing we will do will be far from boring.
We will sing with redeemed minds, hearts and lips free from sin. Our songs in eternity will be rooted in a deeper, purer and broader understanding of God in our salvation than we experience on earth. And our singing in eternity will be offered to God in His very presence. There's nothing boring about that.
While our singing in eternity will be better, our singing today is both meaningful and important. When we sing today, we experience a dress rehearsal for eternity. We will sing praises to the Lord forever. Again, this is not all we will do, but it will be a core piece of what we will do.
As new creations of Christ today, we proclaim to each other and the world around us that the perfection of eternity with God will be like tomorrow. Think about this. How does singing, as together with your church, help you feel connected to God? If you are in need of prayer, please get in touch with me.
