Today is Sunday, August 19, 2018. Hi, my name is Adam Burton, and you are listening to The Daily Divo, a short devotional designed to help you apply God's work to your life. The content comes from the Gospel Project. Take a few moments and read Revelation, chapter 4, verse 2, through chapter 5, verse 14.
God the Son, who lived as a perfect man to die as a sacrificial lamb, is described in the praise hymns of Revelation as the one who reigns forever. He reigns because He is the King on the throne, and He reigns forever because He is eternal God. He was not a hearse leading to a dead and defeated man's everlasting grave. It was the living God's victory chariot that passed through the grave.
Again, we see Jesus at the throne, being worshiped as one with authority and divine power. The language used is the same as other scripture passages, where divine worship is portrayed, worthy, glory, honor, and this worship will never end.
