When the people of God spend the majority of their time and energy on the things of this world, they quickly discover that the desire to join in God’s ministry to others is reduced. This is because false idols use up our time and energy and deplete us, often demanding much of our physical and spiritual resources. The true God is the One who builds us back up and ministers to us, so that we have the potential to be effective witnesses to His power and grace.  Think about this: Can you name any “false gods” in our day that consume our time and effort (in reference to both Christians and non-Christians)?
