Today is Wednesday, October 23, 2019 and here is your Daily Devo. Like Jesus, we are called to live as servants. But there is a burden to servanthood. Just as with Jesus, we must bear the burdens of those around us. We bear the sadness of those in our local church bodies as well as our brokenhearted neighbors. We carry the weight of abortion, the sex-trafficked, and the homeless. Injustices weigh on us because we know they are signs of our broken world. Our culture will try to lure us in with tactics of living for oneself and the glory that comes with it. But God’s economy is different. It is in serving that we will be the most fulfilled. It is in laying down our lives that we will find satisfaction. Ultimately, it is in our participation in the redemption of souls that we will find eternal joy.  Think about this: What does Jesus’ life as the Suffering Servant teach us about our own servanthood toward others? Who can you begin to serve this week with the hope, message, and love of the gospel?  Thank you for listening to the Daily Devo. Please send me a comment, like, or share the Daily Devo. It helps others to get the Daily Devo. Also, please connect with us on Facebook at Central Baptist Church - Maysville, KY. This way you can stay up to date on everything going on at Central Baptist.
