Hi, I'm Adam Burton, and this is the Daily Devo. Today is Wednesday, October 6, 2021. This week's Bible verses are Romans, chapter 11, verses 33 through 36. Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God.
How unsearchable are His judgments, and how inscrutable His ways. For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who has been His counselor, or who has given a gift to Him that He might be repaid, for from Him, and through Him, and to Him are all things, to Him be glory forever. Amen. Chapter 11, verses 33 through 36.
Did you know that on this date, in 1908, was the Bosnian Crisis, and for Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary declared the annexation of Bosnia and Herzkovina, which had been nominally under the rule of the Ottoman Empire. The takeover raised attentions within the Balkan region of Europe, and threatened to end in a war. In 1976, there was a coup in Thailand, Admiral Sangod Cholaroos, deja coup, Alstin, the civilian government of Cinnee-Promos. In 1981 was the assassination of Anwar Sadat, the third president of Egypt, Sadat was killed by members of the terrorist group, Thakfir Wal-Hajara, during a parade held to commemorate the 8th anniversary of Operation Botter, a military operation where Egyptian forces crossed the Suez Canal and overran the Bar-Lev line in Israel.
The military operation stated the Yang-Kapur War between Israel and a coalition of Arab states. The assassination is thought to be a result of Sadat's efforts to bring peace to the region, which started with the Ten Camp David Accords in 1978. In 1995, the first exoplanet orbiting a Sun-like star is discovered. U.S.
astronomers Didier Queloz and Michael Mayer announced the discovery of the exoplanets called 51 Pegasi-B, or Bello-Rofan. The Jupiter-like exoplanet orbits a star called 51 Pegasi, which has a magnitude of 5.41. 51 Pegasi-B takes 4.23 Earth days to orbit around its star. In 2007, this is the first successful human-powered attempt to circumnavigate the world.
Englishman Jason Lewis, set out on the journey, also called Expedition 360 on July 12, 1994, from a green which landed. The over 46,000-mile expedition around the world took him 4,833 days, during which he used only human-powered modes of transportation, including bicycles, rollerblades, and a pedal-powered boat. And now you do know. Think about these Bible verses today, from Genesis 17-17, verses 3-8.
Then Abram fell on his face, and God said to him, Behold, my covenant is with you, and you shall be the father of a multitude of nations. No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham, for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations. I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make you into nations, and kings shall come from you. And I will establish my covenant between me and you and your offspring, after you, throughout their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you, and to your offspring, after you.
