I'm Adam Burton, and this is the Daily Devo. Today is Thursday, September 30, 2021. This week's Bible verse to memorize is John chapter 1 verses 12 and 13. But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John chapter 1 verses 12 and 13. Did you know that on this date, in 1744, the Battle of Madonna Del Almo begins. The battle was fought during the War of the Austrian Succession and ended with the Spanish and French victory over the Kingdom of Sardinia. In 1949, the Berlin airlift ends.
After 15 months of airlifting supplies to Berlin, the Berlin airlift led by American forces came to an end. The Berlin blockade was an international crisis where the Soviet Union blocked access of Western countries into Berlin. In 1960, the animated series The Flintstones premiered on TV. It was set in the Stone Age and it detailed the lives of the Flintstone and Rubble families.
It ran for six years until April 1, 1966. In 1966, Botswana gained independence from the United Kingdom. And in 2005, the Danish newspaper, Jillian's Posten, published a controversial cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad, the publication led to riots and protests in many parts of the world. And now you do know.
Think about these Bible verses today from Luke chapter 8 verses 43 through 48. And there was a woman who had had a discharge of blood for 12 years. And though she had spent all her living on physicians, she could not be healed by anyone. She came up behind him and touched the fringe of his garment and immediately her discharge of blood ceased.
And Jesus said, who was it that touched me? When all denied it, Peter said, master the crowds around you and are pressing in on you. But Jesus said, someone touched me, for I perceive that power has gone out from me. And when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling and falling down before him declared in the presence of all the people why she had touched him and how she had been immediately healed.
