Today is Tuesday, August 31, 2021, and here is your Daily Diva. Hi, I'm Adam Burton, the pastor at Central Bad District, in May's Looking Technical. We are in the first week of our new series of the Daily Diva, where we will look at an historical event from that day, but more importantly, if you adjourn with me, we will memorize a verse of scripture each week. Today, we celebrate Love Litigating Lawyer's Day.
Since I'm married to a lawyer, this emphasis is personal to me. You know, the American Bar Association Practice Council passed Love Litigating Lawyer's Day in October 2015, a 2014 Gallup poll showed that only 21% of surveyors believe that lawyers are sincere and ethical in their actions. Guys, with any profession, not all lawyers are the same, but I am grateful to know many lawyers that take ethics seriously, especially my wife. Well, our Bible verse for this week is 2 Corinthians chapter 5 over 17.
I will be using the English Standard Version of the Bible, but you can use any faithful Bible translation. 2 Corinthians 5 17, therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away. Behold, the new has come.
2 Corinthians 5 17. See how well you can remember our verse from yesterday. Don't look at it and try to quote 2 Corinthians 5 17 from memory. After you've done so, see how well you did.
And then read the verse once and try to say it from memory or once. And then repeat that for a total of five times. You'll be amazed at how much you remember. Join me tomorrow for another episode of the Daily Divo.
God bless.
