Danny Guthrie: Anfield to Walsall - via Indonesia

Ahead of the new EFL season getting underway, we catch up with former Liverpool midfielder Danny Guthrie. Now with Walsall, the 32-year-old tells us all about growing up at Melwood, training alongside the likes of Steven Gerrard, Dietmar Hamann and Xabi Alonso to making his full debut away in Istanbul against Galatasaray. As well as reflecting on his time at Anfield, he tells Guy Clarke about the decision to leave and sign for Kevin Keegan’s Newcastle having previously worked under another Reds hero of yesteryear in Sammy Lee at Bolton.
